Many will remember the Poppy Cascade in situ for Armistice 2018 & 2019. John Arnold has shared the following update with Emma Crofton about what has happened to the poppies since they were taken down last year. It is the perfect post script to a very memorable event and helps support a campaign to encourage front line workers during the Pandemic; "Not all Heroes Wear Capes!"

Just about a year ago, we removed the poppy cascades from the tower. They were left in a warehouse to dry out until after the New Year. I met someone from the Jan Yperman Hospital in Ieper who asked if they could have them to put on display in hospital which I thought was a great idea.

This being an "anno horribilis" for hospitals they were left in storage until now. They have finally found time to display them in the personnel entrance.

They still have some pieces left that will be framed and hung up in different places inside the hospital.

I wanted to share these pictures with you; after all you were the driving force behind this project and what a great success it was. Never were so many photographs taken of St Georges.

We have kept some poppies for the outside railings and hopefully will be displayed again in the future.
