Thursday 21st March 2024 – Canterbury: Lt Col Rob Troubleyn (In Flanders Fields Museum): The Belgian War Graves of the First World War.

The reburial of Belgian servicemen who died during the First World War was carried out very thoroughly by the 'Service des Sépultures Militaires' (Belgian War Graves). Smaller than the British or French services, they nevertheless did excellent work alongside these organisations. In the mists of history, however, the merits of this Belgian service have been forgotten. This talk will explore this little known organization and its activities.
